More Uganda News

It has been a blessed time in Uganda. We have spent a lot of time with the kids at hope. We did do some home visits to those in real need. Delivering food baskets and praying for those in need. Life is very hard for a lot of people here. Things we take for granted, like running water, flushing toilets, electricity. People here work hard everyday for their basic needs.

This is one of the posts from Sherry. The first post was just saying she had arrived safely, and that communication (phone) outside of the country was tough...so facebook is it for now. Hopefully, she & Janet have been able to at least talk with their families.

Here are the pictures from Saturday, February 12th. Janet was there, as well as 11 others. Sherry was in Seattle, getting ready to fly out to join them. I do not have much explanation for these pictures, except the few that were marked. I did add those in, but you will be amazed at the beauty of this simple place.

These are pictures of February 13, 2011--as you can see, Praising God is the same everywhere...hands lifted to our Lord!! I believe they went to where the new orphanage is being built. Enjoy this day! It is so neat how simple things are, and how happy the children are. There was a quote that the village children (not the orphanage kids) came to where they were for the day. It was so fun to see them having fun crawling through culverts.

Monday, February 14th, 2011--Valentines Day. Sherry has finally arrived. You can see her right in there with the kids...nice to see both Janet & Sherry in the pictures. I've also added February 15th pictures. Over these two days, the team spent Valentines day with the kids, and then went to the market to buy food to put in the food baskets...which were towels or blankets. They then distributed them on Tuesday, visiting the village, praying with those in need, and seeing the people of the village.

Wednesday February 16th is already posted as well, as they are ready to start Thursday, before we even go to bed! It appears that they spent the day at Hope with the kids--did some food preparation, did a pillowcase craft with the kids, and just viewing the pictures, I for one see an endless canvas there....God is good. What a blessing to be able to see Sherry & Janet as they are there.

Keep this mission in prayer. Keep these kids, this village, this mission team and all those touched in prayer. Tune back soon, as I will try to download pictures each day they are uploaded!
