March 3, 2014 Uganda

We were all up by 7, and outside enjoying the cool air.  The sunrise was beautiful

and morning is a great quiet time to read and study.  We headed to breakfast, where we were served muzungo eggs and toast.

The local chickens here have whitish yolks, but the eggs are very good.
We headed off in different directions.  Some stayed for the Pastor’s Conference, and some headed to Bakka School, and others to Blessing School.
Our team had the opportunity to teach the kids.  Some taught them bible stories and the light and darkness.
Some taught English and Math and some read stories and played games.
The Pastors Conference was successful with 70 pastors and leaders, led by Pastor Fred.

Lebanon Calvary Chapel was able to gift Pastor Fred with a Samsung Tablet and a full library loaded on it.  Both Pastor Tom & Erick were able to teach in both the morning and afternoon
session.
While the African can really worship, they were amazed by Erick and his harmonica!

Lunch was rice, beans, and carrots…it was very good, and we were told taking a “little” bit of food
was insulting, and to be African, you must pile your plate full.
The afternoon continued with the conference, while others went out to do elderly visits.  They visited Theresa, Joanne and Annette and the stories they heard will stick with them forever.

Dinner was beef stroganoff and garlic bread. We enjoyed catching up with each other and where we had been that day, and what we learned and saw.  It was an incredible day for all of us!

The night was cooler, and the sunset was beautiful.

We had worship with the YWAM and Uganda Group, and then came back and some of us had our own worship outside under the Uganda night sky.  Nothing like it. We got a great laugh going into the house, as the electricity was out for a short time, and Erick needed to study.  He is always prepared!

We realized our bodies are changing to this time zone as we went to bed around 10:30.  Tomorrow is a big day…..more conference, village outreach, Market outreach, Village clinic and Bakka and Blessing schools are on the agenda.
