Brian Fouts from Romania June 27th

Don't miss JUNE 27th Service! Brian Fouts from Romania will be with us to share in teaching and fellowship. Show your support of some of our missions out in the field! A little about Brian & his family from our LCC Web Page:

Greeting in Christ;

I would like to introduce myself and my family to the fellowship of Calvary Chapel Lebanon. My name is Brian Fouts I have been a missionary in Romania since 2005. I pastor a small church in the city of Bistrita located in Northern Central Romania. I had the great pleasure of meeting Tom this last year while visiting family in Oregon. It’s a strange story of how the Lord brought all of that about. I actually met Tom pastor Jeff Smith in Germany at a Senior pastor’s conference. He was sharing that one of his pastor’s was starting a church plant in Lebanon, Oregon. I actually grew up in the city. It was one of the weird things that you never expect being in Europe.

We are excited about the Lord putting on the heart of your fellowship to partner with us here in Romania and I look forward to hearing from all of you that are interested in what we are doing. I am married to my beautiful wife named Cynthia and have 3 small children ages 4,3,1. My oldest is Kaidon, Sedona is my middle daughter and Sage is our youngest daughter. Sage was actually born in Romania a year ago.

The church we pastor here is a small church. It took over the church 2 years ago and we have been seeing the Lord bless it slowly steadily over the last couple of years. We meet in a renovated Garage that is next the house that we live in. It’s been great to see the Lord draw people every Sunday to the teaching of his word. One of the big outreaches that we are currently working on is having a free concert outreach this Aug for the youth. So please be praying for open hearts during this concert outreach. We currently have a missionary that is working in the orphanage here in Bistrita with Children that cannot be placed with any families due to special needs. We also started teaching conversational English through one of the social programs in the city to students; this is free and provides a great opportunity for sharing the gospel.

Romania Strange enough is a country that claims the highest Christianity rate of any European Nation. According to 2002 census 99.5% of Romanians identify themselves as belonging to some sort of Christian religious organization. The Problem is that Romanians by in large equate Christianity as a social identity as opposed to a personal relationship with Jesus. Nearly 90% of Romanians claim to be Romanian Orthodox. But in reality only 10% actually practice their faith. The existing protestant churches here are very fractured and place a heavy emphasis on works. When in reality what Romania needs is a proper understanding of the grace of God. We are hoping that through prayer and being led by the spirit teaching through the Bible we will see God do a mighty work in a country that is desperately in need of it.

Hab 3:2 O LORD, I have heard the report of you, and your work, O LORD, do I fear. In the midst of the years revive it; in the midst of the years make it known; in wrath remember mercy.

Blessings,
Brian
