Pastor Tom was to get very wet, very soon, for some reason!

From Larry Tilford:

We left the church lot at 6:30 a.m. and got to Detroit Lake about an hour later. The pontoon boat was really nice but VERY slow compared to all the jetskis and cigar boats on the lake. We found out that the water was too warm to fish most places but at the mouth of the river, so we headed there and caught eight trout between us.
At around noon some of our group had to leave but the remainder went up the lake to another cove and tried our hands again. The crossing was very rough and windy and it turned out to be unproductive fish-wise but a really good time together.

Christmas in Romania

We are again providing a bit of cheer to Romania for Christmas......

You can help by picking a box to fill for Christmas!

There are still 5 boys, 6 men and 6 women whose names are still available -- anyone wishing to buy shoebox gifts for our folks in Romania should get signed up. Shoeboxes will be available each Sunday until all have been signed for. If you have, or get a shoebox...here are the guidelines:

Fill shoebox with your choice of gift(s)

Must be able to close lid on shoebox.

DO NOT WRAP GIFTS OR SHOEBOX.



We also have the Romania Gift envelopes for cash/check donations for helping to ship the shoebox gifts.

FINAL DUE DATE for all gifts and donations is Oct 4th.

The Food Bank is up & running. We've received generous donations, and shelving and want to say THANKS for those! NOW, we need to stock those shelves!!Here's how you can help the community:

We are in need of a small bench chest freezer so we can keep frozen items on hand. Does anyone have one they are not using?

Here are things you can help with by donating:

Toilet Paper

Shampoo

Tooth Brushes & Paste

Cleaning Products

Canned Meats such as tuna or chicken

Please bring these items with you to church, or drop them at the office anytime!

We're Moving!!

Starting October 1st...we will move indoors to our new place!

We've outgrown the Senior Center, and we are moving services to Seven Oaks Middle School....just behind the church property.

A Day with Brett Williams 08-09-09

"What A Blessing"

sums up today at LCC!!

For those of you in attendance either this morning, this evening or both...you know what I mean. The spirit was there and moving (some of us more than others!). The music was incredible, the message was incredible, the food tonight was great, and we had an extra treat when Pastor Jeff from Cottage Grove Clavary Chapel joined us this evening. The day started with our own worship team, sounding great! We are blessed with their music each week. This was followed by a few songs with Brett, and then he followed the music up with an awesome message. If you missed the service--get out your bible, your viewmaster and click here. It should be posted soon under "guest speakers" at the bottom of the page. After the message, we closed in prayer, and a wonderful old tune, so good for the soul. Yes, we love the modern songs, but an oldie in there is always a special treat! We missed Pastor Tom, but Brett did an amazing job, and brought some goodness to our morning.


We had a relaxing afternoon (many of our folks claimed they had a good nap!), and the met back at the church property for a great meal, great fellowship, and yes, we have to say it again: AWESOME music, prayer and worship.

Pastor Jeff Smith from Cottage Grove CC tore up the place with a Dillon tune, and put it in a whole new perspective for some of us! He had some great tunes he shared with us, several he had written, and we enjoyed it tremendously!

Jeff was joined by Brett Williams, and they sounded so great together, we didn't want them to stop!

Brett did not disappoint us...played some favorites for us, some we knew, some we didn't and some we want to hear more of!! (For those of you who missed it...some of us have CD's that we'd love to loan you if you need a listen!) We were all sad when it ended, as we felt like we had spent a day worshiping with an old friend.

Thanks Jeff for joining us....we enjoyed your music--what a gift.



Thanks Brett for making our day such a great one....we can't even begin to thank you enough for the gift you gave us today....even if we didnt' recognize you this morning with your sunglasses on! Good luck with your new church, and some of us will be visiting someday!

Our daughter-in-law was finally released from the hospital this afternoon (08-07-09)! The medication is finally working and she is able to keep solid food down. God is so good! Thank you all for your prayers. We love and appreciate each of you.

Foster Lake Youth Day July 31st, 2009

The youth headed out on Friday, July 31st--during Sweet Home Jamboree--and the lake was nearly empty!! (Glad they did not take the advice of a local who has seen the lake PACKED on Jamboree Friday's!)

Thanks for such a fun day for the kids...and to the Lund family for bringing out the boat!! BIll, you're a great captain!

They even had a little visitor who had lunch with them!!
